- DESCRIPTION: This rare ceremonial tribal drum is an original, antique artifact of the Dayak people of Borneo. Handcrafted from one solid piece of wood by a tribal artisan, with indigenous “aso” motifs decorating the lower base of the drum. Animal skin was used for the batter head, and a woven rattan ring secures it to the body. An additional woven rattan rope was used for hanging or draping cross body. Organic weathered patina from age and wear. This is a beautiful piece of ethnic art.
