  • DESCRIPTION: This vintage hand carved statue of  Dewi Ratih, a Hindu moon goddess renowned in Bali and Java, is a beautiful wood carving. A bit over two feet tall. she has an elegant presence and intricate hand carved detail throughout. Her delicately carved out arm grasping her clothing shows the expert skill of traditional Balinese wood carvers. Shown atop a demon serpent, Dewi Ratih is revered for her beauty and grace, and is also known as the Goddess of Beauty. Her myth is linked to lunar eclipses. Circa 1970 – carved in Bali from one solid piece of wood.
