  • DESCRIPTION: This hand carved rice chest, mounted on a rustic pedestal base, is now transformed into a unique and functional console table – a sure conversation piece in any space! The body of the rice chest console table is handsomely carved on 3 sides with animal and human figures. The modern rice chest was hand crafted by village artisans from 1 solid piece of hard wood, and hollowed out on the just as the original antique pieces were made. The top is secured by 2 wooden pegs which are easily removed to access the inside and use for storage. This is a unique piece for an entryway, as a sofa table or frankly just about anywhere! A wonderful piece to mix with any tribal or ethnic decor.  Organic character and texture from the hardwood and artisan craftsmanship.
